Data Engineer – Data Platforms & AI Tooling (Remote, LATAM)

About the role

ITX is hiring a Data Engineer for its Data Platforms and Internal Tooling projects, working remotely within LATAM. The role builds the enterprise data platform that powers analytics, internal products and a growing Agentic AI ecosystem, working closely with AI, platform and infrastructure teams. It is not a traditional analytics-focused data engineering role.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines that ingest and transform data from applications, databases, APIs, event streams and third-party systems.
• Develop trusted, reusable data products for analytics, business applications and AI solutions.
• Design and maintain data models for reporting, analytics and AI consumption.
• Build AI-facing integration layers, including MCP servers, so AI agents can securely access data and platform capabilities.
• Implement data quality, testing, monitoring, observability and lineage across pipelines and AI integrations.
• Apply data governance, privacy, security and access-control standards consistently.
• Prepare structured and unstructured data for analytics, machine learning, generative AI and agentic workflows.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and help scale the data platform.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Backend Engineering or a related field.
• Experience building and operating production data pipelines and with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Experience supporting, integrating or developing AI-powered and Agentic AI solutions in production.
• Familiarity with RAG concepts and vector databases; MCP server experience is highly valued.
• CI/CD, Docker and IaC (Terraform or similar); monitoring, telemetry and alerting experience.
• Active use of AI-assisted development tools, excellent collaboration skills, Agile (Kanban) comfort and professional English.

The pay range for the LATAM Senior Software Engineer (Data Platforms & AI Tooling) role is $5,400 to $7,900 per month, depending on experience, skills and education, with possible adjustments by country.
