About the role
The Disaster Risk Management Specialist (DRMS) will oversee emergency response, training, and technical assistance programs for the Amentum RDAP contract in Antigua & Barbuda and Saint Kitts & Nevis. The position can be based in either country and reports to the Sub‑Regional Manager for the Caribbean.
Key responsibilities
- Assess hazards, risks, vulnerabilities and existing capacities, and develop country‑level strategic plans to reduce disaster risk.
- Design, implement and oversee training and technical assistance programs for public, private and regional disaster agencies.
- Build relationships with humanitarian organisations, host‑nation agencies, the UN and U.S. Government entities.
- Facilitate hand‑off workshops, maintain a roster of surge consultants and manage their activation.
- Coordinate procurement of relief items, prepare activity reports and fully participate in disaster response operations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, International Development, Emergency Management or a related field.
- Experience in emergency management, disaster preparedness training and capacity building.
- Ability to deploy on short notice for up to 45 days in austere conditions.
- Strong organizational, communication and project‑management skills.
