Senior Data & Platform Engineer – Veterinary Technology

About the role

A leading veterinary technology company, working through Truelogic, is hiring a Senior Data & Platform Engineer. You will take end-to-end ownership of a rapidly scaling data platform, covering ingestion, transformation, storage and delivery of analytics for veterinary clinics. The role sits in a high-ownership, fully remote engineering team and suits someone who has built data platforms from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Own the reliability of pipelines, warehousing, transformations and observability
• Build and maintain data pipelines with Apache Airflow for batch and near-real-time workloads
• Manage and optimize the Snowflake data warehouse, including schema design, clustering keys, materialized views, access controls and cost governance
• Maintain the dbt transformation layer, including models, incremental strategies, dependencies and documentation
• Deploy and run services on Kubernetes (EKS), debug pods and tune resources
• Provision infrastructure with Terraform, including Snowflake resources and Airflow
• Write SQL and Python for ETL tooling and pipeline logic
• Manage PostgreSQL as an operational database, optimizing queries, indexing, replication and migrations
• Lead the move toward change data capture (Debezium) and implement observability, SLA tracking and alerting with Datadog
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for DAGs, dbt runs, schema migrations and container images
• Work with analytics, product and full-stack teams to deliver clean, documented data products
• Navigate AWS services such as RDS and S3, read logs and adjust scaling

Required profile

• 5+ years in data engineering or a combined data and infrastructure role, with a track record of building production-grade data platforms
• Deep Snowflake expertise, including schema design, performance tuning, access control and cost optimization
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt and Airflow
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and extensive Terraform experience
• Experience with Datadog, AWS (RDS, S3), and preferably Debezium, Kafka/Flink or Iceberg/Delta Lake
• Background in healthcare, veterinary medicine or other regulated domains is preferred
