Construction Superintendent

About the role

Discovery Builders (Antigua & Barbuda) is looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead site supervision for commercial construction projects. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards, creating a positive experience for members and employees.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all on‑site activities for designated construction projects.
• Partner with the Project Manager and ownership to align on goals.
• Execute projects from start‑up through punch‑list completion.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
• Produce weekly look‑ahead schedules and track overall project timelines.
• Coordinate subcontractor trades and manage self‑perform labor.
• Monitor material procurement to meet schedule targets.
• Manage punch‑list items and turnover to ensure client satisfaction.
• Provide constructability feedback and labor forecasts to the PM.
• Support community development initiatives and liaise with operations and sales teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of commercial construction safety experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; safety management certifications a plus.
• Formal safety training including OSHA 500 and specialized courses (scaffolding, crane management, steel erection, emergency response, fall protection, excavation, confined space, rigging, hazardous waste, erosion control).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of staff.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and adapt to changing conditions.
