Construction Superintendent

About the role

Discovery Builders, the construction arm of Discovery Land Company in Antigua & Barbuda, is looking for a seasoned Superintendent to lead site supervision on designated projects. You will ensure the delivery of high‑quality construction that reflects the company’s commitment to excellence and member satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all on‑site activities for assigned construction projects from start‑up to punch‑list completion.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and owners to align on schedule, budget, and quality goals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site that meets customer expectations.
• Produce weekly look‑ahead schedules and keep overall project timelines on track.
• Coordinate subcontractor trades, manage self‑perform labor, and forecast labor needs.
• Track material procurement to support schedule milestones.
• Manage punch‑list items and turnover processes to ensure client satisfaction.
• Provide constructability feedback and support community development initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of commercial construction safety experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent safety management certifications.
• Formal safety training such as OSHA 500 and specialized training in scaffolding, crane operation, steel erection, fall protection, excavation, confined spaces, rigging, hazardous waste, and erosion control.
• Proven ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies on the field.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with employees at all levels.

Required skills

• OSHA 500 certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience using Procore construction management software.
• Knowledge of scaffolding, crane management, steel erection, fall management, excavation, confined‑space procedures, rigging, hazardous waste handling, and erosion control.
