Mason – Construction & Masonry Specialist

About the role

The Mason will prepare and install masonry and associated construction materials according to project scope. They will receive daily job‑site schedules from the foreman and support from the superintendent, ensuring work aligns with plans and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lay bricks, concrete blocks and natural stones following construction drawings and specifications.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling and smoothing them.
• Mix mortar or grout to required consistency and quality.
• Cut and shape bricks, stones or other masonry materials using hand or power tools.
• Ensure accurate alignment and leveling using plumb bobs, levels and straightedges.
• Perform repairs on existing masonry structures.
• Monitor inventory of masonry materials and tools, requesting replenishments as needed.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and other construction professionals.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in masonry preferred.
• Proven experience as a mason in the construction industry.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
