Financial Controller - Hotel Property

About the role

An experienced Financial Controller is sought to lead the financial operations of a hotel property. The role covers accounting, treasury, budgeting, payroll, internal controls and financial reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting the property's financial stability and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process, financial planning and monthly financial reporting.
• Monitor financial performance, analyse budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage cash flow, banking transactions, supplier payments and payroll approvals.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and comply with local tax and financial regulations.
• Strengthen internal controls to safeguard assets, keep accurate inventories and mitigate financial risks.
• Oversee audits and coordinate with external auditors and relevant authorities.
• Review purchase orders and service agreements with Purchasing and General Management.
• Lead the finance team and work with department heads on operational and financial objectives.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, identify discrepancies and risks, and implement tax and employment-related financial strategies.
• Represent the company before government authorities and financial institutions and authorise contracts and agreements within delegated authority.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Experience in hotel finance and accounting; five years in a similar role is preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Budgeting, financial planning, taxation, auditing and internal controls.
• Knowledge of procedures involving government institutions, licenses and permits.
• Advanced Excel, including queries, pivot tables and formulas.
• Strong analytical, leadership and communication skills.
