Regional Distribution Centre Deputy Manager

About the role

Lyreco is seeking a Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) Deputy Manager to provide relief cover for holidays, sickness and training at its Atherton hub. You will help maintain a reliable customer delivery service while supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the distribution centre.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all vehicles are maintained according to manufacturers’ recommendations, are roadworthy and comply with legal requirements such as payload limits and tachograph regulations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date personnel files for all RDC staff.
• Motivate the team, hold regular monthly meetings and record minutes.
• Instruct drivers on operational procedures, quality standards and security protocols.
• Cover delivery routes during staff holidays, absences and ad‑hoc volume spikes.

Required profile

• Current full C1 driving licence with no more than six minor offence penalty points.
• Working knowledge of tachographs and EU driving regulations related to the Working Time Directive.
• Organised, flexible and able to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Smart personal appearance and the ability to pass a CRB check.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and team‑orientated skills.
• Basic PC proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
