Director of Sales and Marketing

About the role

The Director of Sales and Marketing will lead revenue generation for Curtain Bluff, an award‑winning Relais & Châteaux island resort. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape commercial strategy, nurture key trade relationships and drive both new guest acquisition and repeat business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual sales and revenue plan, including market mix, rate strategy and occupancy targets by segment and season.
• Lead trade engagement activities such as sales trips to the US and UK, participation in Relais & Châteaux roadshows, and hosting travel advisors on‑property.
• Design and implement targeted acquisition campaigns aimed at affluent couples in their 40s‑50s and multigenerational families.
• Maintain and deepen the 65% guest return rate through coordinated communication touchpoints before, during and after stays.
• Collaborate with the Head of Reservations to ensure brand‑consistent guest communication.
• Oversee day‑to‑day coordination with Marketing, US Sales, UK Sales and the Relais & Châteaux Global Sales Office.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of luxury hospitality sales experience with established relationships with top travel agencies in the US and UK.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Sales or Marketing; MBA preferred.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, strategic thinking, problem‑solving and team‑management abilities.
• Deep understanding of market trends, competitor analysis, customer behavior and industry regulatory compliance.
